These symbols were often placed at vulnerable points like doors, windows, and fireplaces to act as a spiritual barrier, protecting against perceived threats like sickness, poor harvests, and the malevolent influence of witches.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt also has a ‘Hexafoil’ or Daisy wheel on the inside of the door. These exciting protection marks were likely added to guard against curses or bad luck in the food supply.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eOver time, the cupboard itself has continued to collect its own story.
