A handsome antique 19th century powder horn featuring a prominent, hand etched daisy wheel or hexafoil folk art design, traditionally used as a protective talisman on early utilitarian gear. The horn displays beautiful colouration and naturally aged patina. It has a hand carved wooden base plug securely held in place by small fastening pins around the rim, but it is unfortunately missing its cap or cork at the other end.
Condition is good, commensurate with age and use. It has honest historical wear throughout with fine surface lines and scuffs, and has a small crack at the tip (see photographs.
