A charming late 17th to early 18th century carved oak winged cherub. The side profile reveals a high relief carving style, showcasing a plump face with a stylised, expressive gaze, a prominent nose, and deeply undercut, rolling curls of hair. Projecting backward from the head is a finely detailed wing, characterised by a scalloped, layered feathering pattern at the top that transitions into elongated, vertical flight feathers below.
A lovely piece.
Condition is good, commensurate with age and use. Structurally sound.
