A Super Antique 18th Century Danish Folk Art Wooden Box Profusely Carved Top And Bottom With Names, Initials And The Date Of 1786.

It’s a long, narrow wooden case with a hinged lid. It retains its original wire hinges and has a wire hook and hasp closure. The top is decorated with chip carved geometric patterns, a style very common in Scandinavian folk work.

A lovely piece of functional folk art!

Condition is good, commensurate with age and use. Structurally sound and functions well. Some age related wear and splitting to the base, and signs of old woodworm.
