A Curious Early 20th Century Folk Art Coffin Shaped Collection Box Dated 1939.
Constructed from lightweight, thin panelled wood, giving a folk art aesthetic. The box features a highly deliberate, tapering hexagonal coffin shape topped by a prominent, hand applied wooden cross. It has a handwritten in ink date of 1939, telling us it was made during the outbreak of World War 2.
Condition is good, commensurate with age and use. Structurally sound. Some areas of wear and tear.
